AAHA Accreditation
The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) stands as the sole organization in the United States and Canada that offers voluntary accreditation to companion animal hospitals meeting rigorous standards of excellence across all facets of medical care. AAHA-accredited practices are widely acknowledged as leaders in the field, with only 12%–15% of veterinary practices in the US and Canada achieving this distinction. We are deeply honored to be among this select group.
To uphold our accreditation, AAHA-accredited veterinary hospitals, like ours, undergo comprehensive on-site evaluations every three years. This process involves the assessment of approximately 900 standards spanning categories such as anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, laboratory, patient care, pain management, recordkeeping, cleanliness, disease prevention, client service, practice leadership, safety, and continuing education.
AAHA-accredited hospitals are mandated to adhere to specific protocols in these areas, ensuring the delivery of top-tier veterinary care. With AAHA’s standards regularly reviewed and updated to incorporate the latest advances in veterinary medicine, accredited practices continually refine and enhance their protocols to remain at the forefront of the field and ensure optimal care quality.
Elevating Veterinary Care: The Value of AAHA Accreditation
In the realm of veterinary hospitals, accreditation is not a mandatory requirement in the United States, setting it apart from human healthcare facilities. At Petsadena Animal Hospital, we place a high value on our continuous efforts to deliver the utmost quality of care, showcasing our unwavering commitment to excellence. We are thrilled to announce we have earned AAHA accreditation.
Why is accreditation crucial?
Accreditation plays a pivotal role in animal health, mirroring its significance in human health. It provides a framework for reviewing protocols and ensuring adherence to essential standards, thereby guaranteeing quality care. For pet owners, accreditation offers a clear indication of the level of care provided by a practice, even before their first visit. It serves as a tangible demonstration of a hospital’s dedication to the highest standards of veterinary medicine, offering owners peace of mind knowing their pets are receiving exceptional care.
