Aroo, vet tech! We see you!
You don’t just enjoy pets.
Taking care of them is what you live for.
How yo do that is what sets you apart from most vet techs.
You are thorough and well organized. The vet tech that enjoys when everything has its own place and stays there. You get tasks accomplished like clockwork with all of your ducks in a row! You’re a master of balance, effectively caring for patients and their pets, while maintaining day-to-day work responsibilities. You’ve got the work drive of an Australian shepherd; the friendliness, loyalty, excitement and energy of a golden retriever.
You understand the power of communication. You’re always checking in with the rest of the team, as well as with patients. You even find little times throughout the day to have a conversation with a dog, tell a secret to a cat. You thrive in fast-paced environments, maintaining high-quality work and engaging customer service. People comment about how you remain calm under pressure. Isn’t that what someone does who takes initiative to get things done? Is there any other way?
You’ve always been the go-to person, whether great times or tough. You’re reliable and responsive. You’re humble and enjoy working with others. You adapt well to change, even if it’s last minute.
Your ability to purrfectly balance long term and short term priorities are key to your success. You’ve honed your technical skills through experience. The curiosity to learn new things fuels you. Why try to force the world to adapt to you when you can grow and sharpen your skills? I mean, even dogs and cats can master a new talent and learn new tricks. Shouldn’t a vet tech be able to do better?

Play it cool, little Jack Russell terrier.
Don’t purr so loudly, codependent kitten.
Right meow you’re so tempted to send us your resumé.
That’s what all the job sites require. Unfortunately, a resumé doesn’t tell us much at all, except how many jobs you’ve worked in the past. It also doesn’t let us know that you can follow directions, especially when someone wants to make sure that you’re paying attention. So write us an email telling us what you connected to most in this job description. Include a story of a time you had to be a team player in a business setting and how that affected the way that you work and lead now. Don’t just make it a one or two sentence story. Give us the details. Spill the beans. Demonstrate your clarity and kindness and all yo’ bad skills. Then send it to dlopez@petsadena.com.
Oh, and one more thing. Some people skim these emails and only read what’s bolded. They look for the spot where it says “send us your resumé”, blast it off, and never even show up for interviews. It’s all a big game to them. To avoid that, we need you to include #Aroo Vet Tech in the subject line. If your email doesn’t have that as the subject line, it’s going in the trash.
You’re not a skimmers. You’re a winner. You’re still reading! We can’t wait to meet you.
Seriously, we want this job for you.
We want you to get the respect you deserve for being so great.
We know if we give you that,
You’ll thrive and make Petsadena even more awesome.
Someday we’ll look back at this email and laugh at how silly it was,
But also how wonderful it was to connect us together.
And our little paradise will spread to even more people.
Isn’t that what business ought to be about?
Hope to see you at Petsadena. 🙂
